Poem In Your Pocket

April is Poetry Month and April 26th is National Poem in Your Pocket Day. You are responsible for creating a Poetry Activity in the library for Timbercrest students. Search online for Poem in Your Pocket activities, Poetry Stations and Poetry Learninging Centers. etc.

Quote an Author

Search online for a quote from one of your favorite authors or a quote from a favorite book. Word process the quote (Fancy), remembering to put the name of the author with the quote. Use large font and print the quote. Use construction paper for the background and add decoration around the quote. You will display the quote around the library.
You must turn in three author quotes. Each must be decorated in some way, using color. Look at the samples around the library or ask me where they are located.
Grading - 15 points possible. (5 points for each quote)
Shoebox Diorama Book Display

- Identify an important event from the book.
- Recreate the event in your shoebox or in another type of display. If you choose to do a different type of display for your favorite book, be sure to check with Mrs. Timson first for approval.
- Write a brief summary telling us about this important event
- You must include the title of the book and the author in your display
Grading: 20 points:
- You will be scored on following all directions above (5)
- Turning it in on or before the due date (5)
- High quality workmanship (5)
- Well thought out plan prior to beginning the diorama. You must sketch a plan for approval first! See Mrs. Timson BEFORE you begin. (5)
